Manitowoc introduces new Potain Igo M self-erecting crane at Batimat in Paris
- The crane offers multiple configurations for maximum versatility and efficiency on the jobsite.
- The Igo M 24-19 is a perfect choice for new home construction or renovation projects.
The new Potain Igo M 24-19 will make its worldwide debut at the Batimat exhibition in Paris, France. The new crane replaces Potain’s best-selling Igo M 14 and joins the Igo MA 21 and Hup M 28-22 A in the Company’s range of mobile self-erecting cranes. These cranes are designed for new home construction and renovations and are perfectly suited for builders and carpenters.
The Igo M 24-19 is very compact, measuring only 11.83 m in length in its folded position, allowing it to access narrow, restricted jobsites. There are three jib configuration options of 12.3 m, 21 m, and the full 24 m option, for greater versatility to adapt to jobsite requirements.
The Igo M 24-19 has a permanent ballast installed and offers three steering axle options for travel. There’s a 25 km/h tow bar, an 80 km/h tow bar, and a fifth wheel for maximum versatility. The maximum capacity of the Igo M 24-19 is 1.8 t and will lift to 570 kg at its maximum jib length of 24 m. The height under hook is 19 m. Additionally, the crane can work in a raised jib position of 11° or 20° when more height under hook is needed.
The new crane benefits from the latest enhancements for Potain self-erecting cranes, including the following standard features:
- Smart Set-Up – remote-controlled guidance for automatic folding/unfolding of the crane.
- Potain Crane Control System (CCS) – maximizes lifting performance, improves operator ergonomics, and increases flexibility on the jobsite.
- Drive Control – provides the operator with complete control and precision lifting on the jobsite.
- Power Control – adaptable power supply.
- Steering Axle – offers maximum maneuverability.
Also featured on the crane is the Potain CONNECT™ telematics system, providing remote diagnostics, advanced analytics, and fleet management information for maximized uptime and crane utilization.
Several productivity options are available, including an onboard generator for power independence on jobsites, hydraulic leveling for easier crane setup, Potain Plus load curve software (which delivers substantial load chart gains), and the Top Site working range limiter.
“At Potain, we are driven to deliver innovative solutions that fit the market, and our customer’s needs. The new Igo M 24-19 optimizes compactness, mobility, performance, and productivity for our customers to increase their return on investment,” said Rémi Deporte, self-erecting cranes product manager at Manitowoc.
With this new model, Potain is reaffirming its leadership in the mobile self-erecting crane segment. The crane is perfectly matched to builders’, carpenters’, and roofers’ needs for home construction and renovation.
